PRIST University is a private university established in the year 2009. The university is also known as Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science and Technology University. The university has the affiliation of Bharathidasan University. The university has been recognised by the Tamil Nadu Government and the UGC. The university has received the prestigious NAAC accreditation and has been approved by the AICTE. Bar Council of India (BCI), Council of Architecture (COA), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and NCTE have approved PRIST University. 

PRIST University courses are offered through eight schools of study which have been listed below:

A total of 49 PRIST University courses are offered in Science, Engineering, Law, Medicines, Arts, Management, and research streams with an intake of approximately 900 students in total. PRIST University fees structure varies from programme to programme. PRIST University has also collaborated with IBM –ICE (Innovative Centre for Education) to offer specialised academic programmes like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and the Internet of Things. As a result, the PRIST University has attained the MHRD Innovation Council's membership in 2019.

For PRIST University admissions to the Puducherry campus, students are selected based on their marks in entrance exams. The entrance exams are different for different courses, like for admission in B.Arch, NATA score is needed, GATE for M.Tech, JEE for B.Tech, CAT for MBA, and interview for Ph.D. For some PRIST University courses, admissions are based on the marks obtained in the immediate degree for other courses.

B.E / B.Tech in PRIST University

PRIST University Puducherry offers 5 plus 2 (in collaboration with IBM) disciplines under B.Tech course. Admissions are open for full-time, part-time, and lateral candidates with different eligibility criteria. Though JEE main is one of the criteria for admission, the university conducts its test for all branches. The PRIST University fee structure for B.Tech also varies with other branches. 

M.Tech in PRIST University

PRIST university M.Tech courses offer the same 5 specialization programs offered under B.Tech, in addition, tech courses are provided at the master's level too. A valid GATE score is mandatory for admission in the M.Tech for any discipline. Apart from that, they will also conduct its test during the PRIST University admission procedure. 

B.Ed./M.Ed. in PRIST University

They are recognized for offering the best Education program in several courses like Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Social Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, History, and Geography at Bachelor's and Master's levels. For PRIST University B.Ed. admission marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the University and Bachelor's/Master's Degree with at least two school subjects at the graduation level with 45% marks, while for M.Ed., a B.Ed. are considered. A degree with at least 55% aggregate is a must, along with passing the PRIST University entrance exam.

M.Phil in PRIST University

PRIST University in Masters of philosophy offers 10 courses. The basic eligibility for admission is the relevant degree at the bachelor's or Master's level with the least aggregate of 55% being accepted for admission in M.Phil at PRIST University.

Ph.D. in PRIST University

PRIST University Ph.D. course offers specialized courses like Physics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Education in which candidates can achieve their doctor's degree. Admissions for Ph.D. at PRIST are based on the entrance exam and interview conducted by the PRIST University.

B.Pharm in PRIST University

PRIST University is doing excellent work in pharmacy with the collaboration of a few foreign universities. However, there is only a single course offered at PRIST University B.Pharm.

MBA/ BBA in PRIST University

These management courses focusing on enhancing leadership, entrepreneurship, and business administration in the students are provided on both the Master's and Bachelor's levels at the PRIST University in association with its foreign collaboration.

B.Arch in PRIST University

The PRIST University offers one course under this program. For admission in B.Arch in PRIST, the candidate must have qualified the NATA. In addition to this, the PRIST University also conducts its own entrance exams to select the students under the course.

B.A/ B.Sc/ M.A/ M.Sc in PRIST University

The PRIST University LL.B courses are offered as a 3-year program for students who want to acquire a law degree after graduation. Along with it, PRIST also provides 5 years of integrated courses of law, for students willing to pursue the course after 12th, these include LL.B with B.Com, B.Sc, and BBA.

BCA/ MCA in PRIST University

For Computer Application, the PRIST University has two courses BCA & MCA. Any candidate, who has passed 12th with chemistry/ math/ physics/ biology/ computer science, is able to pursue BCA in PRIST, while for MCA, a relevant degree in graduation is a must.
